When tasked with creating a new website for Gislason & Hunter LLP, one of southern Minnesota's most established law firms, I faced the exciting challenge of modernizing their digital presence while maintaining the gravitas expected of a prestigious legal institution. As my first major project at Lime Valley Advertising, this website represented a significant milestone in my professional development.

The project required a delicate balance between sophisticated design and functional necessity. The site needed to effectively showcase their diverse practice areas, extensive team of attorneys, and rich history serving the Mankato and New Ulm communities. Working with WordPress as the foundation, I leveraged the Divi theme's capabilities while extending its functionality through custom PHP development to meet the firm's specific requirements.

One of the most rewarding aspects of the project was developing custom solutions to handle the firm's complex content structure. Through careful PHP implementation, I created dynamic systems to manage attorney profiles, practice area relationships, and case studies in a way that was both elegant and maintainable. I also had to find a way to migrate all of the site's post meta to the new format which resulted in a completely separate plugin development. This plugin automatically found matching post meta values and converted them to the new format.

The resulting website not only met the immediate needs of Gislason & Hunter but also provided them with a flexible platform that could grow alongside their practice. This project demonstrated my ability to deliver comprehensive web solutions that serve both aesthetic and functional requirements while adhering to the high standards expected in the legal sector.
